Tigers Sting Yellow Jackets In Section Opener, 23-5

The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team won its Section 2-AAA opener with a road blowout of Freeport on Tuesday night, 23-5. It was the third consecutive victory for the Tigers and the second straight game NA has scored 22 goals or more.

All 15 position players on the varsity roster scored at least one goal in the onslaught, led by senior Skye DePrado’s four goal-effort. Senior Lola Wilhite and junior Bella Falo netted a hat trick each, while senior Makenna Tuman tallied a pair of markers to sting the Yellow Jackets.

Also touching the scoresheet with goals were Alyssa Redshaw, Mila Prusak, Amelia Henderson, Allison Lyon, Laurel Donley, Emma Lafayette, Katie Oates, Becka Oates, Chloe Winkworth, Kristen Kinzler and Ava Lindsey. Freshman Kelsea Apel got the start in net and earned the victory.

North Allegheny improves to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Section 2-AAA. Freeport falls to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in section play. The Tigers will visit North Hills on Thursday for another section contest.
