The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team traveled to Butler Monday night for a road section match. The Golden Tornado prevailed, beating the Tigers 14-6.

Butler set the pace early, scoring the game’s first three goals in the opening quarter. The Golden Tornado added two more markers at the start of the second period before the Tigers found life courtesy of a goal from senior Tessa McDowell. Junior Reagan Riordan also found the back of the net in before the first half came to a close. Butler held an 8-2 lead after two quarters.

NA added three more goals in the third frame from junior Sara Donaldson, Riordan and senior Avery Anderson. Butler paced the Tigers with three of their own to hold a 11-5 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Riordan added another marker to complete the hat trick in the fourth. Taryn Hilovsky had four goals for Butler, while fellow teammates Izzy Skal and Malina McElroy each recorded hat tricks.

North Allegheny saw time from both junior Fiola Ragan and sophomore Ruby Rosenberg in the contest. Ragan had three saves, while Rosenberg stopped seven shots.

With the loss, NA falls to 2-4 on the season and 2-2 in section play. The Tigers are back in action Wednesday night from Newman Stadium for an 8:00 p.m. non-section matchup against Allderdice. Live audio coverage will be provided by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
