Titans Top Tigers In Low-Scoring Matchup
The North Allegheny softball team hosted Shaler in a non-section matchup Wednesday. The low-scoring affair ended in a 2-0 win for the Titans.
The Tigers were held to just two singles in the contest from sophomore Zoe Rychel in the first inning and senior Sammy Plotsko in the sixth. For her efforts pitching in the contest, Plotsko was named Wright Automotive Player of the Game.
Shaler found runs in the book-end innings. In the top of the first, junior Alyssa Schaffold had an RBI double that scored fellow junior Jayla Antomachi. The Titans had an insurance run courtesy of an Addison Aleski RBI triple in the seventh that scored senior Emily Spears.
The Tigers fall to 1-2 on the young season and are back in action at home Monday at 4:00 p.m. against Hempfield in the first section contest of the Spring. Live audio coverage of the contest will be provided by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
