Two NA Golfers decide where they will compete at next level
Two North Allegheny boys golfers made their official decisions on where they will compete at the next level on Tuesday afternoon. Ravi Desai will be attending Penn State to continue his golf career while Preston Troiano officially committed to Ursuline.
Desai was a three-time participant in the PIAA Individual Championship coming in fifth, sixth and 14th place in his career. He was a four-time varsity member along with being the No. 1 golfer his sophomore through senior seasons and a captain his senior year. Desai was apart of the 2024 North Allegheny team that claimed the WPIAL and PIAA Team Championships that season. He is a four-time scholar athlete, made the 2025 Rolex Scholastic Honor Roll and is a member of the national honor society. Along with tearing up the links, Desai was apart of the North Allegheny varsity ice hockey team his sophomore and junior seasons. He will major in finance at Penn State.
Troiano is coming off of a season where he claimed the Section Qualifier individual title. He was also apart of the 2024 team that won WPIAL and PIAA gold. Troiano is joining a Ursuline team that competes in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II. The fall of 2026 will be the first season that men’s golf is a varsity sport at Ursuline. Troiano will major in marketing.
