Two NA Pairings Compete At WPIAL Class AAA Doubles Tournament
North Allegheny sent two pairings to the WPIAL Class AAA doubles championship tournament on Tuesday at Bethel Park High School.
After winning the Section 2 crown last week, fourth-seeded Evan Kaufman and Matthew Kampi opened the WPIAL tournament with a first round victory over Franklin Regional’s Aditya Arkalgud and Joshua Selvakumar, 10-0. In the quarterfinals, the duo of Kaufman and Kampi fell to Fox Chapel’s brother pairing of Cooper and Mason Friday, 10-5.
Also representing the Tigers at the tournament was Adhav Ramadas and Sri Thirumala. Seeded seventh, Ramadas and Thirumala dropped a hard-fought 11-9 decision to 10th-seeded Logan Memije and Zack Meshanko of Gateway.
North Allegheny will return to team action on Thursday with a home non-section meet against Bethel Park.
