North Allegheny senior Virginia Malkin signed her letter of intent on Monday to continue her track and field career at Chatham University.

Malkin is a hurdler and member of a North Allegheny girls’ track and field team that won its second consecutive WPIAL Class AAA championship in 2023. The Lady Tigers also placed seventh in the state championships a season ago.

At Chatham, Malkin will join a Chatham women’s track and field program that claimed seven gold medals at the Presidents’ Athletic Conference outdoor track and field championships last spring. Chatham also produced a two-time All-American last season in the form of Aurielle Brunner, who finished fourth in the Triple Jump and fifth in the Long Jump at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

Malkin will major in Marketing and Immersive Media at Chatham University. She is pictured above with her parents Christina and Brian Malkin, head coach John Neff and assistant coach Tad Thayer.
