Zoe Rychel, Brianna Mensch Named Big 56 All-Conference Softball

Two North Allegheny softball players were named to the Big 56 All-Conference teams announced on Thursday morning.

Junior infielder Zoe Rychel was named a first-team selection, while sophomore Brianna Mensch was named second-team at the designated player position.

Rychel batted .431 for the Tigers with 28 hits. including nine doubles and a home run. She also accumulated 12 RBI and 13 runs scored. In the field, Rychel had 15 putouts and 39 assists. This was not Rychel’s first time being selected to the all-conference team, as the Bucknell softball commit was named first-team Big 56 last season as well.

Mensch was a .300 hitter for the Tigers this season on nine hits, including four doubles and a home run. She had six RBI and scored two runs. In 28.2 innings of work from the circle, Mensch had 16 strikeouts.
