NORTH ALLEGHENY VARSITY GYMNASTICS MEET SUMMARIES LADY TIGERS DEFEAT PINE-RICHLAND AND MONTOUR The Lady Tigers defeated Pine-Richland, 142.375-139.425, and Montour, 142.375-129.9, at Rising Star Gymnastics on Wednesday night. NA posted the second highest team score of the season in earning the two victories. Junior Shannon McConnell led the Lady Tigers with a season high all-around score of 37.925. Senior Katie Maranuk was second with a 35.75 while sophomore Kelly Stiger was third with a 35.35. In individual events. McConnell topped the magic 9.0 mark in all four events --- 9.7 in vault, 9.45 in floor, 9.425 on beam, and 9.35 on bars. Maranuk had a 9.25 on floor and a 9.15 on bars. Stiger posted a 9.2 on vault for the winning Lady Tigers. The two victories improved the NA record to 9-0 on the season as they remained unbeaten. NA will be back in action again tomorrow night when they travel to Fox Chapel to meet the Foxes and Pine-Richland. Meet time is scheduled for 6:30 pm. MEET SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * LADY TIGERS MASTER MOON TO REMAIN UNBEATEN Despite illness and missing several team members, the Lady Tigers traveled to Moon on Thursday night and came home with a 139.1-136.6 victory over the Tigers. Junior Shannon McConnell recorded a 37.65 all-around score to pace NA with senior Katie Maranuk second at 36.15. Freshman Beth Bishop came through with a 31.05 and sophomore Amanda Wilson added a 30.65 for the winning Lady Tigers. In individual events, McConnell had a 9.35 on bars, a 9.3 on beam and a 9.2 on floor. Maranuk posted a 9.15 on vault, 9.1 on bars and 9.0 on beam. The Lady Tigers will be back in action again on Wednesday night when they host Pine-Richland and Montour at Rising Star Gymnastics. Meet time is scheduled for 7:00 pm. MEET SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * LADY TIGERS WRAP UP WINNING WEEK After defeating Center and Hopewell on Monday night, the Lady Tigers posted a double win over Fox Chapel and Baldwin at Rising Star Gymnastics on Wednesday night. NA totaled 144.475 to 140.225 for Baldwin and 140.075 for Fox Chapel. The Tiger score was the highest of the year so far. Junior Shannon McConnell posted an all-around score of 38.525 to pace the Lady Tigers. Senior Katie Maranuk was second with a 37.15 with sophomore Kelly Stiger third with a 35.1. In individual events, McConnell scored 9.8 on vault for the highest individual score with Maranuk second with a 9.45. On floor exercises, McConnell posted a 9.725 with Maranuk close behind with a 9.6. McConnell recorded a 9.5 on both bars and beam to lead NA whiie Maranuk hit a 9.3 on bars. Against Center and Hopewell, McConnell was the top performer with an overall score of 37.3. In her individual events, the Tiger junior scored a 9.75 on vault, 9.45 on beam and a 9.15 on floor. With the victories, the Lady Tigers improved their record to 6-0 on the season. NA will be back in action next Thursday night when they travel to Moon for a 6:30 pm meet. MEET SUMMARIES

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * NA OUTSCORES MONTOUR, 141.55-129.05, FOR SECOND WIN Coach Lisa Failla's Lady Tigers won their second meet of the year against no losses as they defeated Montour, 141.55-129.05, at Montour on Thursday night. Leading the way for NA was junior Shannon McConnell who posted an all-around score of 37.3. Sophomore Kelly Stiger was second for the Lady Tigers in all-around with a score of 35.35 while senior Katie Maranuk recorded a 34.85. In individual events, McConnell recorded the highest NA score when she hit a 9.75 on the vault. The Tiger junior also posted a 9.55 on the beam and a 9.4 on bars. Stiger came through with a 9.3 on vault while Maranuk was the top NA gymnast on floor with a 9.15. The Lady Tigers will not be back in action again until Monday, January 10. NA will travel to Center for a tri-meet with Hopewell and Center. Meet time is scheduled for 7:00 pm. MEET SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * LADY TIGERS DOWN MOON IN SEASON OPENER, 140.95-135.00 The defending WPIAL champion Lady Tigers opened the 2004-05 season successfully with a 140.95-135.00 victory over the Moon Tigers at Rising Star Gymnastics on Friday night. Junior Shannon McConnell posted an all-around score of 37.35 to pace NA. Senior Katie Maranuk was second with a total of 34.35. In individual events, McConnell had a high score of 9.75 in the vault, followed by Maranuk with a 9.15, and sophomore Kelly Stiger with a 9.05. On bars, McConnell recorded a 9.4 while senior Lauren Spence was first on beam with a 9.15. McConnells' 9.6 on floor exercise was tops for NA. The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Thursday night when they travel to Montour to meet the Spartans. Meet time is scheduled for 6:30 pm. (Thanks to Coach Failla for the info in this report!)
