MANCUSO LEADS INDOOR TRACK TEAM AT EDINBORO

(2/3/13) Senior Brooke Mancuso grabbed first place in the Girls Open Pole Vault on Saturday afternoon to lead the NA Indoor Track Team at the TSTCA Meet #3. Mancuso’s showing at Edinboro was one of several outstanding performances by the Lady Tigers. Freshman Madeleine Davison picked up some team points with a fifth place finish in the Open 800 Meter Run (2:25.10) and a sixth place effort in the Open 1 Mile Run (5:15.71). The NA Girls also earned second place in the Open Distance Medley.

For the NA Boys, Isaac Fritz had a strong day with fifth place finishes in the Open 60 Meter Hurdles (8.56) and Open Triple Jump (42-05.50). The Tigers had two place in the top five in the Open 3000 Meter Run as Josh Zemet (9:12.68) and Matt McGoey (9:14.26) took fourth and fifth place respectively. In the Open Pole Vault, senior Brett Neugebauer took fourth place and Dan Madler grabbed eighth in the Open High Jump.

The North Allegheny Indoor Track Team returns to action on February 16 at the TSCTA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

TIGERS INDOOR TRACK TEAM OPENS SEASON

(1/13/13) The North Allegheny Indoor Track Team took part in the TSTCA Meet #1 at Edinboro on Saturday.  The top finisher amongst the Tigers was senior Brett Nuegebauer who garnered silver in the Boys Open Pole Vault competition.  Also for the NA Boys, senior Josh Zemet took fifth place in 3000 Meter Run with a time of 9:14.23, Cordon Louco took seventh place in the One Mile Run with a time of 4:38.07, and junior Fritz Isaac finished in the top 10 in two events, claiming fourth place in the 60 Meter Hurdles (8.56) and seventh place in the Triple Jump (41-09.75). 

The Lady Tigers had many top 10 finishers as well.  Senior Brooke Mancuso grabbed fourth place in the Pole Vault event while sophomore Nicole Rich took fifth place in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 27.68.  Senior Alex Gambill was a sixth place finisher in the 800 Meter Run (2:35.36), Madeleine Davison took seventh in the One Mile Run (5:29.47), Vrenzi Henderson was eighth in the High Jump (4-09.00), and Audrey Immonen claimed ninth place in the 3000 Meter Dash (11:36.62).  The North Allegheny Girls also claimed fourth place in the 4x200 Meter Relay (1:54.66) courtesy of Carlianna Cottone, Maria Gonchar, Nicole Rich, and Claire Fiffik. 

North Allegheny will return to the indoor track on Saturday, January 26 at Edinboro University.
