CHEERLEADERS NA CHEERLEADING BOOSTER MEETING September 21, 2009 Opening Remarks Patty Amos & Beth Vuono approved the minutes from the last meeting. Updates Booster Meeting Dates: 10/19, 11/16, 12/21, 1/11. All Mondays at 7:00 PM in the Ponce Room. The pasta dinner for the varsity girls will be held October 2nd at Andrea Conley’s house - the time will be announced. Thanks to everyone who helped with the tailgate with a turnout of 120 people. Special thanks to Chair Heads; Beth Vuono, Kelley Kaparakos, and Kathy Machiko. T-shirt sales will continue through the end of this month at the schools; however, we will continue to sell them at home football games. We will order more shirts on the 14th of October if necessary. New Busines The Booster organization will be changing to a non-profit entity next year. Monica Gambino will look into what is involved. Beginning next year there will be no individual accounts as they exist today - we will be gong to a single account for all fundraising activities. We are looking into adding another competition - further info to follow. UCA Nationals (in Florida) flight info - depart Pgh 2/11 @ 1:20 and arrive in Orlando @ 3:50 via Southwest - non-stop flight (may get moved to an earlier departure). Depart Orlando 2/15 @ 11:55 AM arriving in Pgh @ 2:20 via non-stop service from Southwest. The cost is $331 per ticket (same as last year). The Boosters will be paying the deposit soon. A motion to pay booking fee ($2,000) was made by Julie Hailstone and Jane Marroni. The chaperones will include the coaches and the boosters will pay for security guards at the hotel beginning at 11:00 PM. Hotel fees, transportation, park passes, and meal vouchers -. Treasurer Report Once again, the Boosters organization will leave a balance in the account for the new members in 2010. We will know the amount some time in December. We are proposing to give cheerleaders $105 in their accounts for their participation in mini camp. A motion to approve this was made by Sandy Mencini and Anisa Polk. The varsity cost is looking like it may be overstated by $20/cheerleader, JV is $0.33 over budget, and Freshman are approximately $20 under the estimated cost. The financial report was approved by Joanne Verez & Julie Hailstone. Varsity Soccer senior day is 10/10 during the day, 12:45 arrival. The ceremony begins at 1:30 - the cheerleaders will not be walking through the arches. Locker decorations for soccer are scheduled for 10/8. Underclassmen on the varsity squad will be decorating the senior cheerleader lockers on 10/8. Junior Varsity Two more T-shirt night sales unless we decide to continue the effort. Freshmen Coach Jen requested snacks for the girls on game days. The schedule will follow. Barb McGill donated a boom box. The pictures are done. UBO Selling earrings and pins - $3 profit - these were given to; Beth Vuono (JV), Joanne Verez (Freshman), Sheri Burnham (Ingomar), Mrs. Brehl (Carson) Mary Lotz (Marshall) . Kennywood is June 16th, we’re donating a $50 basket. Clothing Sandy said the hoodies should arrive this week. Order forms will be coming home with the girls for track jackets and football jerseys - order forms must be in by 9/30, no exceptions. Note - these items are OPTIONAL. Fundraising Initiatives include; T Shirts, Sarris Candy, Tambellini’s, cheer clinic during basketball (date to be announced). Friday, October 30th football game - annual coat drive. JV & Freshman will collect coats during the game. Any questions, contact Beth Vuono. A note will be placed in the Thursday envelope. We would like to add two other community outreach projects. Possibilities include; sending gifts to Lincoln School K through 8 via Cindy Werner, and/or doing something with used prom dresses. A motion was made by Sandy Mencini and Cindy Werner to send gifts to the Lincoln School.
