Lady Tigers Land Big Win At Moon, 12-7
The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team traveled to Moon Township for a non-section showdown and came away with a 12-7 victory on Wednesday night. The NA Tigers scored early and often and were led by junior Anna Barton who posted a hat trick. Anna’s younger sister, freshman Josie Barton, joined in the scoring as well with a goal.
North Allegheny started the fireworks quickly with goals by sophomore Brooke Ferringer and senior Abby Washabaugh in the first two minutes of the game for an immediate 2-0 lead and the rout was on. Senior Caroline Palguta and sophomore Paige Jones scored two goals apiece. Senior Jenna Prutting and sophomore Ryley McClelland chipped in with goals for the Tigers.
The defense was strong, led by senior Maya DiSora, juniors Cassidy Heim, Julia Puntil and Bethany Schreiber and sophomore Nicole Atkinson. Senior goalie Katie Shideler had another terrific night in net to earn the win.
North Allegheny improves to 5-5 overall on the season. The Tigers will host Butler on Monday night.
