After a non-section loss last night, the North Allegheny boys’ lacrosse team bounced back to beat North Hills 17-5 at Newman Stadium Saturday morning.

The Tigers scored early and often, netting the first four goals of the contest. Junior Sam Porter broke the ice on a goal assisted by sophomore Nick Sichak. Sophomore Colt Gibson netted his first of the game 45 seconds later on a pass from Senior Evan Lyon. Sichak and junior Travis Lamark tallied markers before North Hills got on the board. Indians junior Colin Feigel scored his first of two in the contest. Lyon netted back-to-back markers to put the Tigers up 6-1 at the end of the first quarter.

Porter opened the second quarter scoring, but North Hills answered back quickly on a goal from sophomore Luke Coldren to make it 7-2. Junior Jacob Clarkson and Sichak both scored, and senior M.J. Schwemmer added a pair of goals as the Tigers led 11-3 at the half.

The Sichak show continued in the third, as the attack scored three more times in the frame. Sichak earned Wright Automotive Player of the Game laurels for his five-goal, three-assist performance. Senior Jonathan Mowry added a goal late in the stanza, while the lone North Hills goal came off the stick of senior Nate Duffy. NA led 15-4 after three periods.

In the fourth, Indians sophomore Coldren scored early, but the Tigers finished off the contest with a marker from senior Adam Flavel and a hat trick score from Schwemmer. The goalkeeping trio of seniors Logan Lyle and Tyler Eyerman along with sophomore Alex Costa kept NA in the lead all game.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 5-6 overall and 3-1 in section play. NA is back in action Tuesday evening with a road non-conference matchup against Hampton.
