Tigers Fall to Spartans on Hempfield Senior Night, 7-2
The North Allegheny varsity Softball Team traveled to Hempfield to compete with the Spartans on Senior Night at Kalp Field. The Tigers struck first with a two-run top of the first inning, but Hempfield starter and eventual winning pitcher Maddie Ushock shut down the NA scoring the rest of the way to pick up the win in a complete game performance.
The Tigers atypically struggled with walks and defense in the contest, giving the Spartans multiple scoring opportunities as the game progressed. For the Tigers, Sophia Dollard took the loss in the circle. The loss drops the Tigers to 13-7 overall while maintaining their 9-1 Section 3-AAAAAA record. Hempfield also finished section play at 9-1, and now has an overall record of 15-3 on the season.
Both teams will await their playoff pairings to be announced by the W.P.I.A.L. on Thursday, May 10th.
