NA sweeps girl/boy doubleheader against McDowell

North Allegheny took the trek north to Erie, PA to take on the McDowell Trojans in a girl/boy doubleheader. Both teams had a successful night as the girls defeated the Trojans, 10-5 while the boys took down McDowell 17-6.

Captain Bella Spino led the way offensively for the Lady Tigers as she had six goals. Mikaela Dassanaike added two goals andWater polo player in action, poised to throw the ball in a pool. dished out three assists. Karuna Ghuman pitched in a goal while Siya Bhonsale tallied her first goal of the season. Sania Bedi was the leader defensively with six steals. As a team, NA collected 20 steals. Katherine Vales made 12 saves in net.

On the boys side, Tabari Morgan led with seven goals and two steals. Callan Bunger added four goals. Mason Shantz, Filip Malezanov, Nathan Hilbert, Logan Purnell, Soham Wadham and Bryce Miller all found the back of the net as well. Captain Michael Stefanko made 13 saves while Gannon Brooks added four saves.

The NA girls improve to 3-7 overall. The boys are now 10-1. Both Tigers’ teams are back in action on Tuesday, October 7 when they host Cathedral Prep at the NASH Pool starting at 6 p.m. These matches will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
