The North Allegheny girls’ volleyball team won its 10th in a row on Tuesday night with a 3-0 sweep over Canon-McMillan at UPMC Court. On Middle School Recognition and Pink Out Night, the Tigers prevailed by set scores of 25-19, 25-15 and 25-19.

Meeting for the first time since the Tigers devoured the Big Macs in the 2023 WPIAL championship, 3-1, the outcome was the same for this non-section matchup. Tied 8-8 in the opening set, North Allegheny used a 4-0 run to take a 12-8 lead and rolled from there. The NA attack was spearheaded by an all-around effort by senior Alicia Mokube with three blocks, three aces and two kills in set one en route to a 25-19 win.

University of South Carolina commit Journee Scott tallied four kills in set two to help the Big Macs surge to a 4-0 lead. The CM advantage was short-lived, however, as North Allegheny surged ahead with an 18-3 run and cruised to a 25-15 win. The serving of junior Sydney Klaich and senior Molly Robertson sparked the effort, while junior Carena Schiller paced the offense with five kills.

Despite facing a 12-10 deficit in set three, the big swings of Schiller once again helped the Tigers storm back. Schiller peppered the Canon-McMillan defense with six kills and the Tigers pulled away for a 25-19 win and sweep of the visiting Big Macs.

Schiller totaled a team-high 12 kills to earn Wright Automotive Player of the Match honors.

Junior Ella Lange tallied 10 kills, and Mokube delivered seven kills, four aces, and a block. Robertson led with 19 assists and added five kills, 11 digs and two aces.

On defense, junior Vivienne Deily-Nelson posted a team-best 19 digs, while senior Keira Duffy notched nine digs.

With the non-section win, North Allegheny improves to 10-0 overall, while Canon-McMillan drops to 5-5. The Tigers return to action on Thursday night for another home match against Chartiers Valley. The match will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
