NA wins 4th Straight With 3-0 Sweep of North Hills
The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team continued its midseason surge on Wednesday night with a 3-0 sweep of North Hills at UMPC Court. The Tigers prevailed by set scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-21.
Each set followed the same script as North Hills hung tough early with NA pulling away for a clean sweep. A well-balanced effort by the Tigers helped spur on the team toward victory. Senior Jax Wilhite and freshman Will Robertson led the offense with nine kills each, followed by senior Varun Kaveti with eight kills. Adding several well-timed blocks and momentum turning plays, Kaveti was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Match.
On defense, junior libero Will Hahn posted a team-high 13 digs, followed by Robertson’s six digs and junior Nicolas Carioto‘s five digs. Carioto also tallied a team-best 27 assists.
North Allegheny jumps to 5-2 in Section 2-AAA, while North Hills dips to 2-5. The Tigers will visit Shaler on Tuesday night for a battle with the top-ranked Titans.
