Five Tigers Named To WPIAL 3A Volleyball All-Star Team

After clinching the 23rd WPIAL Championship in program history over the weekend, five North Allegheny boys’ volleyball players were named to the 3A All-Star Team Monday morning.
Juniors Will Robertson and Peter Bratich joined senior Matthew LaMay on the first team. Junior Jackson Failla was named to the second team while fellow junior Brendan Moore was also qualified as a third team selection.
Robertson, Bratich and LaMay were also named to the first team all-section all-star team earlier this season. Failla and Moore were second-team section all-star picks.
LaMay leads the team with 44 aces. Moore leads the team with 208 kills. Robertson has a team-leading 14 blocks while accumulating 206 kills and 215 digs, each good enough for second-best for the Tigers. Bratich has registered 154 kills and 53 block assists. Failla is second on the team with 371 assists.

The Tigers continue postseason play into the PIAA state playoffs next week. NA’s first-round match will take place on Tuesday, June 3rd, with the site, time and opponent to be determined.
Ten NA Volleyballers named to Class 3A Section 3 All-Star Team

Ten North Allegheny boys volleyball players were named to the Class 3A Section 3 All-Star team earlier this week.
Juniors Peter Bratich and Will Robertson were named to the first team along with senior Matthew LaMay. Senior Elijah Braun received second-team laurels along with juniors Jackson Failla and Brendan Moore. Third-team honors went to juniors Nathan May, Emmett Morris, Elliot Swierczynski and senior Garen White.
Bratich has racked up 148 kills to date, which is good enough for the third most on the team. The junior also has 13 aces, 38 digs, 10 blocks and 49 block assists. Robertson is second on the team with 177 kills and has 19 aces, 191 digs, 11 blocks and 20 block assists. LaMay has notched 112 kills, a team-leading 36 aces, 144 digs, four blocks and 13 block assists.
Braun has totaled 77 kills, 17 aces, 73 digs and three blocks so far this season. Failla is second on the team with 318 set assists while also accumulating 99 digs and 10 aces. Moore leads the team with 181 kills while coming up with 61 digs, 11 blocks and 35 block assists.
May has 77 kills along with 41 digs, five blocks and 24 block assists. Morris has 1.000 hit efficiency so far this season as well as a team-leading 215 digs and 11 aces. Swierczynski leads the team with 397 set assists and has 85 digs plus 31 aces. White has tallied 80 kills, 33 digs, 10 blocks and 48 block assists.

North Allegheny is set to face Pine-Richland in the WPIAL 3A Semifinals on Tuesday, May 20th at Fox Chapel High School.
