4 volleyballers named to the WPIAL 4A All-Star Team; 2 first-teamers

Four members of the North Allegheny girls volleyball team were named to the WPIAL Class 4A All-Star team. Senior Macey Casten and sophomore Molly Robertson were named to the first-team while sophomore Alicia Mokube earned second-team honors and senior Bridgit Murphy made third team.

Casten was the Tigers libero most of the season but moved to hitter when the situation called for it. Casten led the team with 572 digs. She was also the team-leader in aces. Casten had 20 digs in the state championship match. She was a first-team all-section player along with being named first-team all-Big 56.

Robertson led North Allegheny offensively in 2024 with 391 kills. She was also a big help on the back line as she had 250 digs, good for third on the team. In the state championship match, Robertson had 19 kills and 10 digs. She was also a first-team all-section player along with being first-team all-Big 56.

Mokube exploded onto the scene in her sophomore campaign. After collecting 22 kills her freshman year, Mokube finished with 203 kills in 2024, which was second on the team. She was also great at the net leading the team in blocks with 67. In the state championship, she provided 12 kills and a block. Mokube was first-team all-section along with first-team all-Big 56 as well.

Murphy held down the middle for NA all season long picking up 60 blocks, good for second on the team. She added to the offensive end as well with 148 kills. Murphy was a monster at the net in the state championship match when she had eight kills and four blocks. Murphy was first-team all-section as well as first-team All-Big 56.

All four Tigers were major contributors to a 2024 season that saw NA collect a 21-1 record with a section title, WPIAL Championship and their eighth straight PIAA Championship.
