Becca Melanson has been selected to the USA Water Polo National Team for the Cadet age group (16U).  She is one of only 22 other field players from around the country to be selected.  These athletes represent the development pipeline for future Senior National Teams who play in the Olympic games.  The US Women are currently considered the most dominant women’s water polo team in the world. She will travel to Greece for a week of international competition at the beginning of August.

To be selected to the National Team required a series of tryouts and evaluations over several months. The most recent and final evaluation was the National Team Selection Camp in Irvine, CA where approximately 67 of the best players from around the country competed for a spot on the team over three days.

Melanson was also part of the NA Girl’s swim team and competed in WPIAL championship events. She was nominated for the Rookie of the Year award and PA State All-Freshman Team.  Additionally, Melanson is a two-time USA Water Polo Academic All American.
