Five NA Volleyballers Sign Letters Of Intent
Five members of the North Allegheny girls’ volleyball made their college decisions official on Monday. Seniors Elysia Smith (Seton Hill University), Avery Butcher (Dickinson College), Kyra Schmidt (Indiana University of Pennsylvania), Rylee Gadomski (Ohio Northern University) and Marin Dunaway (Bowling Green State University) all signed their National Letters of Intent.
Smith was a steady performer for the PIAA champions and tallied 69 kills and 27 digs during her senior campaign. She plans to study Bio-Chem and attend Dental School at Seton Hill.
Butcher was an PVCA all-state selection at libero and led the team with 369 digs and 43 aces. She will major in English and History at Dickinson College.
Schmidt was also a PVCA all-state selection and one of the top all-around players for NA. Schmidt was third on the team in kills (170), ranked second in aces (40) and posted 149 digs. She is undecided in her major at IUP.
Gadomski was another valuable contributor to the team and notched 66 kills and 18 digs. She will major in study Pharmacy at Ohio Northern.
Dunaway was a PVCA all-state selection at outside hitter and tied for the team lead in kills with 235 on the season. Dunaway added 81 digs and 27 blocks. She will major in Health Administration at Bowling Green State.
All five players were pivotal to North Allegheny’s run to a WPIAL and PIAA championship, as well as a 20-1 overall record. The state championship was the program’s seventh in a row.
