Girls’ Volleyball Pairings Released, Tigers Host Bethel Park In First Round
The WPIAL released the Girls’ Volleyball pairings this afternoon and the reigning WPIAL champions, the North Allegheny Lady Tigers, have drawn the eighth seed in the Class AAA brackets and a home game. The Tigers who finished the regular season with a 10-6 overall record and 9-3 mark in Section 3, will host ninth-seeded Bethel Park in the opening round of the playoffs on Wednesday at 7:30 pm. The Black Hawks qualified for the postseason out of Section 5, finishing in a tie for third place with West Allegheny with a record of 7-5. Wednesday night’s meeting is a rematch of last year’s WPIAL championship match that saw the Tigers earn a 3-0 victory. The WPIAL First Round affair between North Allegheny and Bethel Park will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
