NA Blanks Butler, 2-0, To Remain Unbeaten

Despite a venue change part way through the game, the North Allegheny girls’ soccer team still blanked the Butler Golden Tornado on Wednesday night, 2-0. The outcome marked the second straight shutout for the Tigers defense.

On the grass field at Butler Intermediate High School, the Tigers wasted little time as sophomore Emma Schupansky scored in the 1st minute to give NA a 1-0 lead. By the second half, the lights went out at the Intermediate field prompting the contest to be moved to the High School venue.

In the second half, North Allegheny maintained its one-goal advantage and put the game away with a marker by senior Ally Ruiz with 2:58 remaining to close out a 2-0 victory.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in Section 1-4A. The Tigers will host McDowell on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
