NA Falls In Annual Battle With Hudson
North Allegheny took to the road on Saturday for the annual contest with Ohio juggernaut, Hudson High School. The Tigers hung tough with the Explorers in the first half, but ultimately fell by a final of 18-8.
In the first quarter, Hudson held a 2-1 lead with NA’s lone goal coming from Alec McGovern. Just 33 seconds into the second quarter, Kyle Rullan scored to tie the game at 2-2. Hudson responded with back-to-back goals but Rullan scored again for NA with 3:32 left in the half to bring the score to 4-3, Explorers, at intermission.
In the second half, Hudson pulled away with a seven goal outbursts in the final two quarters. McGovern finished with a hat trick for North Allegheny and Nick Koebley tallied a pair of markers. Zach Smith also scored for the Tigers in the loss.
North Allegheny falls to 2-2 overall with the non-section loss. The Tigers, who are undefeated in section play, will face section foe Franklin Regional on the road on Wednesday night. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
