NA Offense Lights Up North Hills For Section Win, 6-1
With a season-high for goals in a single game, the North Allegheny girls’ soccer team bombarded the North Hills Indians for a 6-1 win at Martorelli Stadium on Monday night. Freshman Lucia Wells and junior Sarah Schupanksy each netted a pair of goals to key the rout of the Indians.
The scoring duo of Wells and Schupansky collaborated for the first goal of the night at 32:40 of the first half. Schupanksy sent a cross to Wells, who buried her shot into the North Hills net for a 1-0 lead.
Eight minutes later, Wells scored again for a 2-0 lead. Senior Emma Bundy added one more marker with 2:06 to play before halftime to increase the NA advantage to 3-0.
In the second half, the Tigers continued to pour it on with two quick goals from Schupanksy for a 5-0 lead with 29:14 remaining in the contest.
North Hills got on the board with 8:44 to play when Cassidy Delfine struck back with a skipping ball from the left side that cut the NA lead to 5-1. The Tigers put the finishing touches on the victory with 8:04 remaining when freshman Allie Burns tallied the final goal of the night in a 6-1 Tigers triumph.
With the win, North Allegheny leaps to 8-1-1 overall and 6-0 in Section 1-AAAA. North Hills falls to 2-6-1 overall and 1-6 in the section. The Tigers visit Pine-Richland on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
