NA Reaches Semifinals at State College Invitational
The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team visited Happy Valley on Saturday and reached the final four of the State College Invitational before bowing out in the semifinals. After dominating in pool play, the No. 2-ranked Tigers defeated Latrobe, 1-0 (25-10), before falling to seventh-ranked Cumberland Valley, 1-0 (25-23).
Leading the charge for the NA was sophomore Will Robertson with a team-high 28 kills, followed by senior Stone Gaertner with 26 kills and 12 blocks. Sophomore Peter Bratich posted a team-high 14 blocks and added 17 kills. Sophomore Brendan Moore added 16 kills to the NA attack.
Senior libero Will Hahn came through for a team-leading 58 digs and paced the team in aces with seven. Robertson contributed 24 digs, while sophomore Jackson Failla and senior Nicolas Carioto added 17 and 15 digs, respectively. Carioto led the team in assists with 56, followed by Failla with 45 assists.
North Allegheny returns to section play on Tuesday night with a visit to Seneca Valley to take on the rival Raiders.
