NA Tripped Up By Kiski Prep, 12-9

Playing in their sixth consecutive game away from Newman Stadium, the road warriors of North Allegheny fell to Kiski Prep on Tuesday night, 12-9. North Allegheny hung tough with the host Cougars but fell behind 4-1 in the first quarter and never led in the game. Whistles were abound as the officials called over 20 penalties against both teams combined.

A bevy of shots came from the NA attack as Gavin Hagen posted 12 shots, scored four times and added three assists to lead the Tigers offense. Dillon Dugan had nine shots and netted a hat trick. Peter Barrante did an admirable job filling in on faceoffs for an ill Alec Vissotski and an injured Jono Pelusi, winning 11 of 20 draws. Matt Osten tallied two markers to round out the NA goal scoring.

Jack Kairys and Greg Ferringer posted fine assists on the offensive side of the ball. On defense, Kairys had seven ground balls to pace the Tigers, while Ferringer reeled in five ground balls and a team-best four forced errors. Antonio O’Barto had a strong night with four ground ball and three forced errors.

North Allegheny is now 6-6 following the non-section loss to Kiski Prep. The Tigers host Franklin Regional at 6:00 tonight in a section contest that will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
