NA Water Polo Hosts Tiger Classic
The North Allegheny Water Polo Teams hosted some of the best squads in the area at the annual Tiger Classic on the weekend of September 26-27. The Lady Tigers finished the tournament with a 2-1-2 mark, including wins over Upper Arlington and Fairview. The NA Boys checked in with a 1-3 record, including a 14-10 triumph over Killbourne.
For the Lady Tigers, Claire Washabaugh was the leading goal scorer for the tournament with a team-best 13 goals. Franceska Passalaqua had a strong overall performance with 11 goals, 11 steals and five assists. The team leader in steals was Maryann Motta with 14. In net, Cory Riley saw the majority of the playing time during the tournament and made 24 saves.
Pacing the way offensively for the NA Boys at the Tiger Classic was Nick Koehler with nine goals and two assists. Defensively, Mitchell Rubio posted seven steals and Charles Ross anchored the goalie position with 51 saves.
Following the Tiger Classic, the Lady Tigers sit at 10-2-2 overall and the NA Boys hold a record of 6-6.
