NA Wins First-Place Showdown At Seneca Valley

In a showdown for first place in Section 1-4A, the North Allegheny girls’ volleyball team earned 3-1 road win at Seneca Valley on Tuesday night. The Tigers prevailed by set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-17 and 25-17.

Senior Jamie Frisco powered the offense with a team-high 12 kills, followed by senior Marin Dunaway with 10 kills. Freshman Molly Robertson had a strong all-around performance with a team-best 10 digs and 22 assists, to go along with seven kills and three aces. Senior Kyra Schmidt displayed her versatility as well with six digs, five kills, two aces and two blocks.

Senior libero Avery Butcher totaled seven digs and a team-high five aces, while junior Macey Casten posted seven digs as well. Junior Mackenzie Jones dished out 13 assists with six digs. Junior Bridgit Murphy stuffed the net with a team-leading five blocks.

With the win, North Allegheny remains unbeaten with a 6-0 overall record and 4-0 mark in Section 1-4A. Seneca Valley suffers its first loss of the campaign and sits at 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the section. The Tigers return home on Wednesday night for a non-section contest against Mt. Lebanon.
