NAWP Boys advance to state semifinals with 10-8 win over North Penn

North Allegheny traveled to Upper Dublin High School to get the state tournament underway on Thursday night. Coming in as the No. 4 seed, the Tigers took on fifth-seeded North Penn, the defending state champions. NA made sure there would be no repeat champion defeating North Penn by a score of 10-8.

The match was tied 5-5 going into the fourth quarter before North Allegheny used a 5-3 final frame to pull away. Callan Bunger led the Tigers with five goals and two steals. Tabari Morgan added four goals. Caden Currykosky had the other goal and two steals. Filip Malezanov dished out two assists to go along with two steals. Mason Shantz also had two assists. Mike Stefanko made seven saves in the win.

North Allegheny advances to the state semifinals where they will take on the top seed La Salle tomorrow at 5:30 pm at North Penn High School.
