No. 1 North Allegheny Punishes Pine-Richland, 3-0
The top-ranked North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 sweep over the Pine-Richland Rams on Thursday night in Section 2-AAA action. The Tigers earned the win by set scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-20.
Penn State commit Canyon Tuman led the offensive attack with a team-high 14 kills, followed by junior Drew Hunker who chipped in with nine kills. Juniors Jeremiah Zemet and Alex Zubrow stuffed the middle with four blocks each. Zubrow added eight kills.
Defensively, senior Josh Bachinsky tallied a team-best 15 digs. Saint Francis commit A.J. Schmidt posted eight digs and set the table for the offense with 39 assists.
With the win, North Allegheny leaps to 2-0 overall and in section play. Pine-Richland slips to 0-1 in Section 2-AAA. The Tigers return to action on Thursday with home match against the Butler Golden Tornado.
