On a night when they honored their eleven seniors, North Allegheny girls’ soccer posted another clean sheet, scoring three first-half goals to blank Allderdice 3-0.

All the Tigers’ tallies came in the first half of the opening period, and all three goals came from seniors. Kieran Shannon scored her team’s leading 11th goal of the season from the left side of the box in the 4th minute of play. Shannon has goals in four straight matches. Six minutes later, Bella Montgomery took a through ball on the right side and slotted the ball
into the net on a breakaway for a 2-0 lead.

In the 14 th minute, Shannon’s shot caromed off the goalkeeper and the post, and Addison Vrabel jumped on the rebound for her third goal of the year and a 3-0 North Allegheny lead.

Senior Jordan Beemer, who played the first 56 minutes, and Kayla Schwerin shared the shutout, although neither was tested due to the Tigers’ great team defense against the Dragons.

North Allegheny is now 10-2-1 on the season and will head back into section play with their next four matches.

Montgomery, who netted her fourth goal of the season, was chosen as the Wright Automotive Player of the Game. She has now scored in back-to-back contests.

Seneca Valley visits Newman Stadium on Monday for a 4A-3 section tilt, followed by road matches at Butler and North Hills for North Allegheny. Monday’s contest between the Tigers and the Raiders will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
