After sweeping Moon on the road earlier in the season, North Allegheny was looking to take the season series in a matchup of Tigers in Wexford.

North Allegheny did just that, sweeping Moon in straight sets, 25-11, 25-14, 25-15. Many of the seniors played pivotal roles in the sweep, especially in the first two sets.

NA used runs in each of the three sets to improve to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in the section with the victory.

North Allegheny had a 6-0 run in the first set to take a 7-1 lead, followed by a 7-0 run on the serves of Elijah Braun to build a 12-point lead.

It was runs of six points and five points in set two that paced North Allegheny to a 25-14 win.

A 5-0 start and an eventual 9-1 lead, plus a seven-point run sent NA on the way to the home sweep.

Senior Brandon Goetz paced the black and gold with six kills. Dom Laswell added five, Ryan Young had four, with Caleb Chen adding one for North Allegheny.

Braun, Aidan Mowry, and Matthew Lamay each had a pair of aces from the service line, while Laswell, James Zimmer, and Ryan Dyga each recorded two blocks at the net in the win.

Defensively, Mowry (7), Chen and Goetz (3 a piece) led NA in digs, with Zimmer recording sixteen assists, and Jackson Failla had six in the passing department for NA.

North Allegheny honored it’s ten seniors before the game, and those 12th graders were honored afterwards with the Wright Automotive Player of the Game award.

Congratulations to Brandon Goetz, Ryan Young, Caleb Chen, Dom Laswell, James Zimmer, Elijah Braun, Aidan Mowry, Ryan Dyga, Matthew Lamay and Garen White for the Senior Night win and the celebration of their careers with the boys volleyball team.

North Allegheny hits the road tomorrow night at Butler, before returning home next Tuesday for a pivotal Section 2-AAA match against Seneca Valley, which will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
