Ramblin’ On; Tigers Trounce Ramblers, 17-1
The North Allegheny Boys Lacrosse team throttled previously unbeaten Erie Cathedral Prep on Friday night, 17-1, at Newman Stadium. One minute into the second half, the Tigers had invoked the mercy rule with a goal by Zech Nachazel and NA cruised to the non-section victory.
Three Tigers tallied hat tricks in the game and two scored four goals. Kyle Rullan and Stephen Kelleher lit up the scoreboard with four goals apiece. Alec McGovern was the first to notch a hat trick by scoring three of North Allegheny’s first six goals. Other Tigers on the scoresheet included Gaven Hagen, Nathanial Sprunk, and Marty Hubert. Senior goalie John Abbondanza made the start in net and made 10 saves.
With the win, NA improves to 3-2 overall while Prep drops to 5-1. The Tigers return to action Saturday afternoon with a 2:00 visit to Emmaus.
