Russ Hoburg named 2023-2024 PA Girls Volleyball Coach of the Year
North Allegheny girls volleyball head coach Russ Hoburg was named the 2023-2024 Pennsylvania Girls Volleyball Coach of the Year on Thursday. The award is based upon a coaches’ impact on players as well as the success of the girls volleyball program for the 2023-2024 season.
This is Coach Hoburg’s fourth year as the North Allegheny girls volleyball head coach where he has accumulated a 71-3 record to go along with two WPIAL championships and three state championships. Hoburg has been named Big 56 Coach of the Year three times.
Coach Hoburg’s impact was felt well before he became the head coach of the Tigers as he has been a part of NA’s seven-straight state championships either as an assistant or head coach. Being named the state coach of the year makes Coach Hoburg eligible for the sectional and national coach of the year honors as well.
