Six Tigers Named To All-WPIAL Team

Six members of the North Allegheny girls’ soccer team were named All-WPIAL players by the Western Pennsylvania Girls Soccer Coaches Association on Thursday.
Senior captains Sahara Catlos and Rosalia Varlotta made the list, along with seniors Kieran Shannon, Mia Barsotti and Jordan Beemer. Junior Samantha Carman was also named an All-WPIAL player in the 4A classification.
All six of these players were also named to the WPIAL All-Section team last week.
North Allegheny is coming off a thrilling win over Norwin in the WPIAL Quarterfinals that ended in penalty kicks Wednesday night.
NA is slated to face Peters Township in the WPIAL Semifinals Monday at a site and time to be determined. This will be the second meeting this season between two of the top squads in the area, with Peters Township prevailing on September 19th at Newman Stadium 1-0.
This will also be the third year in a row that the Tigers and Indians face off in the district semifinals, with North Allegheny taking the 1-0 win over Peters Township at Dormont Stadium last year en route to a WPIAL title. Peters Township beat NA in 2024, 2-1 in overtime and went on to win the championship.
Both teams clashed for the district crown in 2022, with North Allegheny taking the 2-1 win in penalty kicks.
