The North Allegheny Girls Soccer team remained undefeated following an 8-0 shutout of Butler Monday night at Newman Stadium.

The Golden Tornado applied early pressure in the contest, giving the Tiger defense a challenge for the first 15 minutes. Butler senior Madison Rose was awarded a free kick from close range following a North Allegheny handball with 29 minutes left in the half. The shot missed wide right.

Six minutes later, the Tigers broke the scoreless tie. Freshman Kieran Shannon stole the ball away from Butler goalkeeper Delaney Yaracs at the top of the box and found the back of the net. Later in the half, senior Ally Ruiz scored from 30 yards away on a rush towards the net for a 2-0 lead. About a minute later, senior Jadyn Coy beat the Butler keeper and fed a pass diagonally backwards to fellow senior Sam Braden who buried the shot and the lead swelled to 3-0. Senior Abigail Stager scored her 21st of the season with less than 10 minutes to play before halftime. The Kentucky commit was in a footrace towards the net and placed a shot from a tight angle top shelf in the nearside corner. The Tigers led 4-0 after one.

Coy picked up where she left off after the break, taking a pass from Stager and Braden on the doorstep for the tip-in goal. Thirty-three seconds later, Coy took advantage of a Butler miscue inside the goal box and headed in her second score of the night into the net for a 6-0 lead.

Late in the contest, Shannon scored her second of the night, while junior Kanak Agarwal tallied a late marker following a solid lead pass from freshman Addison Vrabel to close out an 8-0 win.

Senior goalkeeper Natalie Rak and junior Margaret Nestor combined for the ninth NA shoutout this season. Coy took home Wright Automotive Player of the Game laurels for her three-point night.

The Tigers improve to 13-0 on the season and 10-0 in section play. The squad is back in action on Wednesday from Martorelli Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. section match with North Hills.
