Tigers Breeze Past Golden Tornado, 3-0

The North Allegheny girls’ volleyball team ran its winning streak up to 23 in a row on Wednesday night with a 3-0 sweep at Butler in Section 1-AAAA action. The Tigers won by set scores of 25-12, 25-6 and 25-18.

In a well-rounded performance by the team, senior Ella Deeter led the offense with eight kills and junior Elysia Smith followed with seven kills. Senior Mia Tuman totaled six kills and junior Jamie Frisco chipped in with five kills.

Tuman dished out a team-best 27 assists and junior Ariana Schiller added a team-best two blocks. On defense, senior libero Caroline Curran led with 12 digs and dazzled with her serves, delivering a team-high five aces. Tuman posted 10 digs and two aces and junior Avery Butcher added six digs.

With the win, North Allegheny sits at 7-0 overall and 3-0 in Section 1-AAAA. Butler falls to 0-4 in the section. The Tigers will head east over the weekend for the Cumberland Valley Invitational.
