Tigers Cap Section Play With 3-0 Sweep At Pine-Richland

In a battle of two playoff-bound teams, the North Allegheny Tigers concluded the 2023 regular season schedule with a 3-0 sweep at Pine-Richland on Thursday night. The Tigers won by set scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-22.

The NA offense was spearheaded by senior Jaime Frisco with a team-high 13 kills. Senior Marin Dunaway chipped in with eight kills and senior Kyra Schmidt followed with seven. Freshman Molly Robertson and junior Mackenzie Jones facilitated the attack with 24 and 11 assists, respectively.

Dunaway and senior Ariana Schiller defended the net with a team-best three blocks each. Senior libero Avery Butcher tallied a team-leading 10 digs. Robertson and senior Jordan Frisco totaled nine digs each and senior Caileigh Duffy added five digs.

Butcher led the team in aces with three and Robertson followed with two aces.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 13-1 overall and caps section play with a perfect 8-0 mark. Pine-Richland falls to 11-5 overall and 4-4 in the section. The Tigers will the announcement of the WPIAL playoff pairings on Friday afternoon to find out their next opponent in the WPIAL Class 4A playoffs.
