Tigers Carve Up Central Catholic To Open Season, 15-0
The North Allegheny boys’ lacrosse team won in a rout in the 2019 season and section opener on Tuesday night with a 15-0 victory at Central Catholic. The Tigers jumped out to a 9-0 lead by halftime and cruised in the second half.
Senior attack Kyler Byerly led the offensive onslaught with a five-goal, two-assist performance. Sophomore attack Nick Eck efficiently scored three goals on three shots on net and senior Matt Osten netted a pair of markers. Also scoring goals for the Tigers were Isaiah Davis, Mike Egnaczyk, Chris Eck, Tyler Lamark and Ben Rohan.
The Tigers dominated ground balls and time of possession. Sophomore goalie Aiden Miller made three saves and earned the shutout.
North Allegheny improves to 1-0 overall and in Section 2-AAA. The Tigers will host Mt. Lebanon on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at Newman Stadium. The game will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
