
Tigers Claw Past Panthers, 2-1
The North Allegheny girls’ soccer team earned a non-section road win on Saturday afternoon, 2-1, at Upper St. Clair.
The Tigers opened the scoring with 7:19 to play in the first half on a marker by sophomore forward Libby Earley for a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, NA increased the advantage to 2-0 with 15:34 on the clock courtesy of a goal by senior Kena Shannon. Upper St. Clair cut the margin to 2-1 with 7:28 to play in the game, but the Tigers staved off the Panthers the rest of the way for a 2-1 victory.
With the win, North Allegheny improves to 15-0-1 on the season, while Upper St. Clair dips to 7-7-2. The Tigers return to section play with a contest against Butler on Monday night at 8:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
