Tigers Fall In Road Non-Conference Matchup

The North Allegheny boys’ lacrosse team took another road loss early in the season falling to St. Ignatius 6-4 on the campus of Cleveland State on Friday night.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after one quarter. North Allegheny first found the back of the net in the early stages of the second stanza on a goal scored by junior Nick Sichak. After St. Ignatius tallied another marker, Sichak scored his second of the contest with just over two minutes remaining in the half.

The Wildcats jumped to a 5-2 lead in the opening minutes of the third frame. NA responded with back-to-back markers from sophomore Mason Brown and senior Sam Porter. Sichak also picked up an assist on the man-up Porter goal with just under seven minutes left in the contest making it a 5-4 game. St. Ignatius found an insurance score with four minutes left to take the 6-4 victory.

Senior Logan Lyle made 12 stops in goal for the Tigers. Sichak added four ground balls along with his three-point night. Junior Johnny Castillo also finished the game with four ground balls while senior Colman Craft had four ground balls and two takeaways. Senior Jack Ferraro finished the game with three ground balls and two takeaways.

The loss drops the Tigers to 0-2 on the season. North Allegheny begins section play on the road Tuesday against Pine-Richland at 7:30 p.m.
