Tigers Fall Short of State Finals Against Central Bucks East

North Allegheny’s quest for its first-ever state championship ended at Chambersburg High School with a 1-0 PIAA semifinal loss to Central Bucks East.
After some early possession time for the Tigers, the Patriots got a great chance from Richmond recruit Taylor Roumy, who chipped a cross just over the net in the 14th minute of play. On that sequence, junior Jordan Beemer tweaked her left knee and had to leave the game for ten minutes. Her replacement, Kayla Schwerin, didn’t face a shot before Beemer returned.
Central Bucks East got the only goal they needed in the 32nd minute from Ole Miss commit Kiera Schleicher. The junior fired a shot from the right elbow that glanced off Beemer’s hand and just inside the far post for a 1-0 lead.
The best chances for the Tigers to equalize came in the second half, but they could not beat Dickinson recruit Aralynn Peterson. Mwende Abai forced a ball just outside of the near post in the 62nd minute.
Roumy had a shot for CBE that Beemer denied in the 68th minute. Ella Roumy committed a foul and received a yellow card in the 72nd minute, setting up a North Allegheny free kick. Kieran Shannon fired a great strike from the right side from twenty yards away, but the shot was just over the net, and the Patriots held on the rest of the way for the victory.
With the season ending, the nine graduating North Allegheny seniors were chosen as the Wright Automotive Players of the Game. Congratulations on a great season and great careers, and good luck wishes go out to Luciana Zagacki, Lydia Randiga, Mia Bosley, Ava Hutter, Avery Ruffus, Averie Bierker, Maddie Williams, Emma Schupansky and Mallory Lanasa.
Central Bucks East (21-4) will play Friday afternoon to try to win its first PIAA title.
For the second time in three seasons, the Tigers’ season ends in the state semifinals. After winning their fourth WPIAL Championship, North Allegheny closes the 2025 campaign with a
record of (19-4-2).
