Tigers Maul Blue Devils, 3-0

The North Allegheny girls’ volleyball team traveled to the South Hills on Thursday night and earned a 3-0 sweep of the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils on non-section play. The Tigers claimed the win by set scores of 25-11, 25-8 and 25-21.

Senior Carissa Treser bedeviled the Blue Devils with her strong right arm, belting out a team-high 13 kills. Seniors Ella Deeter and Mia Tuman added to the NA attack with six kills each. Juniors Elysia Smith and Jaime Frisco chipped in with four kills each. Tuman facilitated the offense with 37 assists.

Junior Avery Butcher notched a team-high five aces.  Deeter and Tuman tallied two aces apiece. Defensively, senior libero Caroline Curran posted a team-best 23 digs and Tuman followed with 10 digs. Senior Rebecca Pilotta added six digs, while juniors Caileigh Duffy and Jordan Frisco totaled five digs each.

The win, North Allegheny’s 25th in a row, improves the Tigers record to 9-0 overall. NA will host Pine-Richland on Tuesday in a return to section play. The contest will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
