Tigers Ransack Raiders For Share Of Section Crown

Posted on:

The North Allegheny boys’ lacrosse team locked up at least a share of the Section 3-AAA title with a win at Seneca Valley on Tuesday night, 10-5, at NexTier Stadium. The Tigers peppered SV goalie Brady Moze with 40 shots in a relentless assault on the Raiders net. Senior Trevor Saundry had a career-best four goals to lead the NA attack.

Saundry scored four of North Allegheny’s first six goals as the reigning WPIAL champions built a 6-3 lead by the end of the third quarter. The Tigers added four more goals in the fourth period to bury the Raiders for a 10-5 section win. Freshman Isaiah Davis netted two goals in the victory, while Peter Barrante, Alec Vissotski, Ryan Leonard and Antonio O’Barto all added goals for the Tigers.

Vissotski was again outstanding by winning 14 of 18 faceoffs. Defenseman Greg Ferringer missed time with an ankle injury but senior Jack Kairys more than picked up the slack with a team-high six ground balls and five forced errors.

North Allegheny improves to 9-3 overall and 5-0 in Section 3-AAA. Seneca Valley falls to 9-5 overall and 3-2 in section play. The Tigers visit Franklin Regional for a non-section contest on Thursday night at 7:30.
