Tigers Slay Little Lions, Advance To PIAA Semifinals
The reigning PIAA champions continued their march toward a repeat with a 3-1 victory over State College in the state quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon at Indiana High School. The Tigers towered over the Little Lions with set scores of 25-24, 25-16, 20-25, and 25-15.
Senior Mitch Higgins drilled State College for a team-high 12 kills and two aces. Brendan Brown clogged the middle with a team-best 13 blocks and added nine kills offensively. Senior David Haus posted nine kills and seven blocks. Libero Ethan DeRubbo covered the defensive end with a team-high 14 digs and setter Antonios Balouris posted 35 assists.
