Tigers Spoil Raiders’ Senior Night With A 3-0 Sweep

North Allegheny took control in the second meeting with Seneca Valley, downing the Raiders 3-0 in Zelienople Wednesday night.
Seneca Valley kept things close in the first frame, but strong play from seniors Drew Hunker and Alex Zubrow secured the set win 25-21.
The second set was not as close, as Hunker and junior Ben Mendes combined for nine kills, with senior Jeremiah Zemet adding two additional kills and three blocks as the Tigers took set two 25-13.
NA dominated the third and final set early, but SV scored four straight points late in the set to make it close. Senior Trevor Treser scored one of the Tiger’s two aces of the night, while Mendes added four more kills and a block, leading North Allegheny to a 25-16 set win.
Hunker earned Wright Automotive Player of the Game honors with 18 kills, an ace, six digs and a block.
Mendes ended the night with 12 kills, 4 digs and a block. Treser also earned 20 digs.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 8-0 overall with a 7-0 section record. The Raiders fall to 5-3 on the year and 4-3 in section play.
The Tigers take on Fox Chapel at home Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m.
