Tigers Reach Semifinals At NA Invitational To Open 2024 season

The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team hosted the annual NA Invitational on Saturday and reached the tournament semifinals to open 2024 season. After posting a combined 6-2 record through two rounds of pool play, the Tigers posted a 1-0 win against Peters Township in the quarterfinals before bowing out with a 1-0 loss to Central York in the semifinal round. Central York, who defeated NA in a five-set nail biter in the PIAA playoffs last season, ultimately won the NA Invitational with a 1-0 victory over Manheim Central.

Individually, the high-powered Tigers were paced offensively by Stone Gaertner with 25 kills. Sophomore Will Robertson totaled 22 kills, followed by sophomore Peter Bratich with 14 kills and senior Jeremiah Satcho with 13 kills. Senior setter Nicolas Carioto facilitated the offense with 61 assists and senior Ryan Quatman added 23 assists.

At the net, Satcho tallied a team-high seven blocks. Bratich followed with five blocks, while Robertson and Gaertner notched four blocks each.

Defensively, senior libero Will Hahn posted a team-best 42 digs and senior Josh Farr added 14 digs. Robertson chipped in with 13 digs.

Coming off a strong showing at the NA Invitational, the Tigers will turn their attention to the section opener on Thursday, April 4 against Butler. The match will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
