Tigers Take Care of Tornado, 3-0
The North Allegheny girls’ volleyball team traveled to Butler on Tuesday night and came away with a 3-0 sweep over the Butler Golden Tornado. The Tigers earned the win by set scores to 25-16, 25-14 and 25-15.
Juniors Mia Tuman and Maddie Fickess led the offense with 15 and eight kills, respectively. Junior setter Ella Deeter facilitated the attack with a team-best 29 assists and tied for the team lead with senior Jadyn Perkins with five blocks. Fickess helped clog the middle of the net with four blocks.
Defensively, junior libero Caroline Curran totaled a team-high 19 digs. Avery Butcher and Kyra Schmidt each posted one ace each.
North Allegheny leaps to 3-0 overall and in section play. The Tigers will have the rest of the week off before hosting Mt. Lebanon on Monday at 7:00 p.m. The match will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
