Tigers Take Down Foxes For Third Straight Win
By: Jared Barton
The North Allegheny boys’ lacrosse team kept their winning ways going back here in Pennsylvania after a successful weekend in Ohio to beat Fox Chapel 7-4 on the road Tuesday night.
The match was tight in the first quarter with limited offense. NA struck first on a goal from junior Johnny Castillo assisted by senior Jacob Clarkson late in the frame.
Fox Chapel knotted the game up in the early stages of the second stanza before North Allegheny’s offense exploded for five straight markers. Goals included junior Nick Sichak, sophomore Mason Brown, senior Sam Porter, senior Colman Craft and Castillo’s second of the game. NA led 6-1 at the half.
Fox Chapel clamped down in the third quarter, keeping North Allegheny off the score sheet and netting two goals of their own. Each team traded goals in the fourth quarter as junior Colt Gibson scored for the Tigers assisted by Castillo.
Senior Logan Lyle made seven saves in net for the win. Along with his goal, Craft had a great night accounting for 10 ground balls, four takeaways, and seven faceoff wins.
The win improves the Tigers’ record to 5-5 overall and 3-0 in the section. NA is back in action on Monday night at home against the Kiski School. Faceoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
