
Tigers Take Fire Out of Dragons In 2-0 Win
The North Allegheny girls’ soccer team blanked the Allerdice Dragons, 2-0, on Monday night at Cupples Stadium.
Just hours after the NA field hockey team also earned a shutout victory at the same facility, the NA girls’ soccer squad got off to a great start when senior Abigail Stager scored in the game’s 6th minute for a 1-0 lead.
The Tigers’ one-goal advantage stood until NA added on early in the second half. With 35:21 on the second half clock, senior Ally Ruiz tallied a marker for a 2-0 advantage. The Tigers took the fire out of the Dragons attack for the remainder of the game and recorded their fifth shutout in the last six games.
North Allegheny improves to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in Section 1-4A. The Tigers will host Seneca Valley on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
